Member for Oatley Mark Coure hosted the fourth annual St George Community Awards to recognise outstanding individuals and organisations in the St George Area

“I’m proud to represent an area that is so community minded and these awards celebrate the contribution of individuals and organisations that enrich our community,” Mr Coure said.

“Volunteering and giving back to the community is so important and it helps build a strong community, which is something I love about living in the St George region”.

Premier Mike Baird attended the award ceremony and commented on how important the work being done by all of tonight’s award recipients is to the St George Community.

Mr Coure who has been born and raised in the St Geroge region, said, ” I’ve seen a strong community spirit firsthand, through the organisations I’ve been involved with; such as the Lions Club, Oatley RSL, Mortdale Community Services and local school councils”.

“I am committed to being an energetic community based Member of Parliament who strives to improve services in our community and recognise the hard work of the people who dedicate themselves to helping others”.

This year, over 200 nominations were received and over 80 awards will be presented.
