The legend Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan captivated the house full audience at Quaycentre, Sydney Olympic Park on September 28, 2019; the concert was organised by Cinestar Events. It was yet another unforgettable concert Sydney witnessed, the Olympic park stadium was jam packed and it was indeed a successful sold out show.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan needs no introduction to his fans world wide. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, known for both Bollywood and Qawwali, Sufi devotional music that dates back more than seven hundred years, is one such musician who has transcended boundaries. He has been embraced by Indian cinema with open arms, his voice has moved audiences everywhere and he has won a place in most hearts.

The show started bang on time with Bollywood dance Performances. Sydney’s very talented and handsome Jazeel Mistry and charming Sakshi Kapoor were the emcees for the evening as they welcomed the audience and introduced each and every artist and their special talent. The moment the singer stepped on stage Rahat Sahab captivated his audience with his heart warming smile, his appearance brought magic and the audience lit up their collected glow of thousands of cell phones trying to capture the moment. Khan Sahib was received by the audience with standing ovation when he sang hits from various Bollywood films which rocked the crowd and kept the audience spellbound.

The concert was divided into two sections, first part featured hit songs from Bollywood films and second dedicated to Sufi & Qawwali.   Besides himself Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan had many skilled musicians to accompany his music, the magic of his musical brilliance kept not only the audience, but also the Saxophonist engaged as well. What was unexpected was the superb sound from live orchestra and lighting effects with giant screens on both sides of the stage projecting their close-ups.

With the mind blowing performance Rahat was undoubtedly at his best and there was no better way to continue the performance with none other than the hit numbers ”˜Teri meri ek kahani’, ”˜Afreen afreen”, ”˜O re piya’, ”˜Main jahan rahu’, ”˜Main tenu’,  ”˜Akhiyan Udeek Diyan’, ”˜Mere rashke qamar’ and many more. The hands were up in the air and hundreds in the crowd were swaying with the rhythm. He had the audience completely mesmerised and the audience certainly left the hall after having had a good time.

It is one of the most unique and exquisite experience of musical concert I have ever witnessed. Audience applauded each and every song and enjoyed the evening thoroughly. Pakistani maestro Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, proved why he is one of the most popular singers in the Asian subcontinent, he had performed in Sydney two years ago and on huge public demand that CineStar Events brought him back again this year.

Organisers of the concert had done excellent job by doing overall management making the whole show seem most organised and disciplined. Event organisers Yogesh K Sharma and the entire team of CineStar Events must be thanked for bringing Ustad Rahat Sahib and organising the concert, which they promised to bring it again soon.
