Shreya Ghoshal to perform live this Saturday on August 4

Shreya Ghoshal is coming to town this Saturday on the 4th of August to perform live at Hillsong Convention Centre. Star Alliance Entertainment’s Chirag Parikh tells TIDU that this is Shreya’s fifth concert in Australia with the biggest audience this time round.

I remember Shreya’s concert that I attended, I think the first one at Olympic Park, she proved to be a thorough and a consummate performer as she pelted close to forty songs that night. The concert had started on time, unlike many others, and unlike many singers who leave you unfulfilled by singing a set number of songs or even coming on stage quite late. But not Shreya, on time, she was in great mood and sang old as well as new songs with equal ease.

That is how I remember Shreya always. Just one concert that left an indelible mark on my memory. I can still visualise the stage and Shreya how she wooed us all. Her medley of songs was beautiful. Shreya is capable of singing in many languages and amazed us all with her versatile vocal range. Not only that Shreya is beautiful and captures your attention as she talks direct to the audience in her own special way.

Shreya has been lauded by many singers as the ‘future voice’, says Sonu Niham, who has performed with her many a times that Ghoshal is his favourite singer: “If there’ll be best all-time singers, Shreya will surely be included among them.” She sings in Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujrati, Assamese, Nepali, Oriya, Bhojpuri, Punjabi and many more.      Ghoshal’s career began when she won the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contest, her Bollywood  playback singing career began with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the movie ‘Devdas’.   Who can forget the famous ‘Dola Re Dola’ or even ‘Silsila ye Chahat ka’, ‘Zoobi doobi’, ‘Chunar Chunar’ or the ‘Jiya Jaaye Na’. I guess I need to remind no more as this singer has sung songs by the thousands. Her versatility can only be seen to be believed. She says, Devnagri is her favourite script and she writes all the songs in Hindi script even while singing in other languages.

To all those in Sydney who like to listen to Shreya may not know that  she is among the top ten most searched Indian singers on Google Search. Shreya has been offered many an acting roles but singing is her only passion having declined the acting offers. Well why not see Shreya perform live, and see the magic on the night of August 4 in Sydney.
