Register your interest in Falls Prevention Training Program: ‘Stepping On’

The Falls Prevention Unit of the Department of Health, Western Sydney Local Health District has offered   a   ‘Stepping On’   Training Program. This is a free 7 week program supported by NSW Health for seniors over 65 yrs. to improve their confidence to keep living independently and not have a fall and injury and become dependent on others. The training will be for 2 hours on a set day each week for 7 weeks. They have advised advised that they need around a minimum of 15 participants   to run the program.
The training will cover :  
  • information and practice for balance and strength,
  • Gentle exercices for balance and strength
  • Raise awareness about nutrition for stronger bones
  • Information on medication management
  • Information on safe footwear
  • guide on how to reduce home hazards

If there is sufficient interest, it is proposed to commence the training in July on a weekday in a venue at Pennant Hills.
