Google remembers Nazia Hassan the Disco Deewane and Aap Jaisa Koi’ singer

Google today on April 3rd, 2018 paid tribute with a doodle to Nazia Hassan, Princess of Pop, a Pakistani singer on her 53rd birthday. She sang the famous ‘Disco Deewane’ at the young age of 15 years.

A lawyer and social activist, Nazia graduated from well reputed Richmond, the American International University and University of London. She started singing at the age of 10 and became one of the most prominent singers in Pakistan and India.

She along with her brother Zoheb Hassan sold over 65 million records worldwide and her English language single Dreamer Deewane made her the first Pakistani singer to make it to the British charts.

Nazia was Born on April 3rd  , 1965   and came into the limelight through Pakistan Television’s programme “Sung Sung” and became Pakistan’s most famous celebrities of 70s and 80s. Sadly her life was cut short by lung cancer at the age of 35 and in her short life on earth she worked for the UN as well as for UNICEF.

Indians remember her for her famous ‘Aap Jaisa Koi Meri Zindagi Mein Aaye, Tau Baat Ban Jaaye’ filmed on Zeenat Aman in the film ‘Qurbani’ which brought in the era of disco songs in Bollywood and the disco party culture in people.
