Tourists to Australia from India rise by 121 per cent

Indian visitors from India are on the rise with India as the fastest growing tourist market in Australia. With 147,000 visitors from India last year India has jumped five places to reach seventh spot from its earlier twelfth in the year 2012.

There has been 121 percent of growth in visitors from India followed by China at 117 per cent and Taiwan at 73 per cent.

Besides visiting the famous icons such as the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and Darling Harbour, Indians love climbing the harbour bridge, taking boat rides and cruises.

Tourism Research Australia’s annual report said 8.1 million overseas tourists visited Australia in 2017, spending a record $41.3 billion, up 6 per cent on the previous year. NSW alone gets over 4 million visitors every year from around the world.
