Rathyatra in Parramatta

Parramatta is the little India of Sydney. If you do not have the time to visit India and see the festivities, food and people, then do head west and be a part of the experience of being in India, even if it is for a day.

Lord Jaganatha has again agreed to personally come and give Darshan to everyone in the famous city of Parramatta on Saturday, 27th May 2016 at 12 pm.  Parade starts from Prince Alfred square, Parramatta (corner of Market St. and Church St.)

Lord Jagannāth, Lord Baladeva and Lady Subhadra will enthrone the beautifully decorated huge chariot. Hundreds of devotees from different parts of the Sydney will flock in the city Parramatta and blessed to get the chance to pull ropes of the divine chariot. The Lord’s journey will be from the Prince Alfred Square (Opposite Novotel Hotel) to Church Street Mall The cymbals, the mridangas and other musicals instruments will be played out to welcome the Lord. The ever enchanting melody of ”˜Hare Krsna Mahamantra’ will inundate the atmosphere and the people would joyfully dance to its tune. The grand procession would culminate at the Church Street Mall followed by Maha Aarati and Kirtan.

All the guests and participants are requested to wear traditional and colourful clothes.

Regarding Parking, there is 3 hour FREE parking available at the Parramatta Westfield. It will be 15-20 minutes walk from Westfield to Prince Alfred Square. If you will be arriving by train, then it will be 10-12 minutes walk from Parramatta train station to Prince Alfred Square.
