A request for help for Nepal Earthquake victims

Nepal earthquake

Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal and the whole country at large has been subjected to total desolation and destruction as a result of a massive earth quake (7.9), and the subsequent after-shocks of equal strength.

Boondall Lions Club, in Brisbane, is appealing to you all for the immediate rehabilitation work in Nepal where more than thousands of buildings have been destroyed to ground level, and more than 2000 people have been killed, with the toll still mounting.

Aruna and myself were in Nepal from 01 April to 06 April 2015 on a holiday/humanitarian visit. One of our guides Purna Pariyar and his parent’s house in Khasur, Lumjung, together with 69 other families have lost all their houses to bare rubble. And, the desolation in capital, Kathmandu, is beyond imagination.

It is our humble request to you all to assist by contributing cash donations for immediate assistance for the victims. Food and clothing will take a long time to transport from Australia to Nepal, because of damage to  airport & roads  in Kathmandu. You can make a direct deposit into Boondall Lions Club’s bank account. Funds will be  used to buy emergency supplies  by Lions Clubs Officials in Nepal.   Bank account details are as follows:

Account name: Boondall Lions Club Inc
Bank Name: National Australia Bank
BSB: 084-150
Account No: 56-273-7987
When making a deposit, please ensure to put your name, so that we can acknowledge your contribution.

Lions Clubs International is the largest service organisation in the world, and provides immediate humanitarian aid to such catastrophes all over the world, since 1917.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
