Now you can get a glimpse into the much awaited Hollywood blockbuster The Great Gatsby in which even our Big B has a role. The official trailer of the much awaited Hollywood blockbuster was released on May 23 and shows the rushes of the film which will be released in the US on Dec. 25, in the UK on Dec. 26 and in Australia on Jan. 10, 2013. The film has Leonardo De Caprio in role as the The Great Gatsby and Amitabh Bachchan acting as the underworld criminal Wolfsheim .

“Its for about a few seconds… by the time you look down on your popcorn to pick another morsel, I’d be gone from the film,” Bachchan joked on his blog this week.
Bachchan features prominently in the film’s trailer though he advised his avid followers not to expect too much and brushed aside criticism he was too big for such a fleeting role.
“Before you all start punching me for my minuscule participation in the film, may I just say that it was more out of a friendly gesture, than a desire towards furthering my career,” he said.
Bachchan, 69, has previously said he was not paid for taking the part, which he agreed to after Australian director and Bollywood admirer Baz Luhrmann visited India.
“It was a sheer delight to work with someone of such great genius as Baz Luhrmann and a host of co-stars that have astronomical presence in the world of cinema,” Bachchan wrote of the much-hyped 3D film.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment, NSW,  Andrew Stoner has welcomed the release of the official trailer for The Great Gatsby, declaring it a visually spectacular advertisement for NSW’s world class film-making capabilities.

Mr Stoner said the making of The Great Gatsby has injected more than $120 million into the NSW economy and supported over 800 jobs, with the trailer setting the scene for the release of a cinematic classic.

Filmed throughout Sydney late last year, the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the pivotal character Jay Gatsby in the re-telling of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel.

The movie also stars Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Tobey Maguire and Isla Fisher.
