Indian chemical sellers eye Aussie market

On Friday 16 March, CHEMEXCIL, sponsored by the Government of India, hosted a Buyer Seller Meet at NSW Trade and Investment, Sydney. This event was also supported by Australia India Business Council (AIBC) NSW. CHEMEXCIL is a trade promotion council sponsored by the Government of India, supporting the Indian chemical industries. The product range covered by CHEMEXCIL’s trade delegates ranged from the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, essential oil, food servicing, agricultural and industrial industries, amongst others.
This was highly relevant to the Australian market as chemicals comprise the third largest import into Australia. The CHEMEXCIL Buyer Seller Meet was an excellent occasion for Australian chemical buyers, wholesalers and distributors to explore mutual buying and selling opportunities with the Indian market.
Mr Amit Dasgupta, the Consul General of India to Sydney visited and addressed the delegates, acknowledging the growing importance of strong bi-lateral trade relations between Australia and India. Mr Dasgupta underlined the strength of the Australian market and its vast business potential for Indian sellers.
Mr Nihal Gupta, Chairman of the NSW Multicultural Business Advisory Panel, attended the event and stressed the importance of the Indian market to the NSW Government.
The trade delegation was led by Ms Vaishali Zinzuwadia, Regional Officer of CHEMEXCIL, who felt that “holding the CHEMEXCIL Buyer Seller Meet Australia 2012 was a step in the right direction, in view of the strong response we have received from Australian companies, particularly in such a short period of time from commencing planning to the actual event.”
The CHEMEXCIL Buyer Seller Meet 2012 was successful in attracting high caliber Australian companies interested by business with India.
